A Little Catch Up!

I've been taking an opportunity to have a little bit of time off with my other half, but I thought I would check in and share some of the highlights...
Earl Grey Tea and Olive Scones...
 Trying out something new!
 Flowers from the garden.
Tea and sock knitting
More flowers
Tea and cake at Wolverhampton Art Gallery
And a fantastic yarn haul from a charity shop!
I hope you're having a lovely summer. I'll be back to regular blogging soon.

Big Knit-Along!

My annual knit-along for AgeUK and Innocent Smoothie was held in my stall on Friday. It was a lovely day and we have 972 hats finished so far!
We had helpers of all ages, including my friends three and a half year old twins making pompoms and we even got the market manager to have a go at knitting!

The first 300 are already bagged up ready to be taken to London, the rest are on display in my stall for a bit longer yet. The highlight of the day, aside from seeing so many lovely people and collecting so many hats, was the hat made by seven year-old Rueben - what a superstar!
It was such a lovely day, and we're doing so well for the charity - we only need just over 500 hats to beat our target for the year!

I think I may be getting a little carried away with these...

New Brooches!

I've been busy working on some new brooches this week - It was one of those lovely happy-accidents, where I found one button wedged inside another button in the jar, and I suddenly saw brooches!
So I've been stacking buttons all day, and the first batch of five brooches is done!
They are really quite sweet, and I have at least another thirty lined up ready to make! So exciting!

My Creative Space

It's been a busy little day - I've been getting special bi-lingual Robin kits ready for the Eisteddfod next week, dropping brooches off at a lovely gallery called Oriel Wrecsam and I also had a crochet with a fab lady in a local coffee shop!
The lady I was teaching was working on her own projects and just needed a bit of help with reading patterns and some joining techniques, so I was working on my small chevron blanket and a doily! It was very pleasant!
For more creative spaces, have a search on instagram for #mycreativespace, and add your own there too! I'd love to know what you're working on at the moment!

Readings...July

It's been a busy month of reading, and I've rather enjoyed it! I read "The Ocean at the End of the Lane" by Neil Gaiman in it's entirety on a day off, and I'm very pleased to have finally read "American Gods"!
So, my July readings were...

  • "Them: Adventures With Extremists" by Jon Ronson
  • "The Ocean at the End of the Lane" by Neil Gaiman
  • "Seducing Ingrid Bergman" by Chris Greenhalgh
  • "American Gods" by Neil Gaiman
Not sure what my first book of August will be!
Do you have any suggestions? Read anything good lately?!
