Today I am relaxing on the sofa with my little ginger cat for company. I have a cup of my favourite sweet cranberry tea, "Pushing Daisies" on the TV and I am working on a granny stripe blanket. It is lovely to have a quiet day at home, it's cosy and warm, and days like this are few and far between. I am making the most of every moment!over here

I've been busy working on new birds for my stall over the last week - these are the first four that I've finished, and I really love them!

Last month we had an abundance of snow, and there was even a day where my little stall was closed, and on that day I started putting together the huge bundle of crochet and knitted squares that I had been working on for months and then forgotten about...
This is actually part of my New Year plan, to finish projects off. I feel so pleased - I've used up lots of odd yarn, emptied a bag of half done project, and made something that will keep us warm on cold evenings.
I finished putting together the squares about two weeks ago, but I want to do a couple more rounds on the edging yet. That will wait until the mood takes me though, for now I am just enjoying cosying up under it! I haven't started any new projects, another of my New Years Resolutions, I am just working on old stuff, and of course socks. It's a good feeling.

I really don't know what happened to the last week, it seems to have disappeared in a flash! I thought I would share some of the highlights from the week today...
I taught Delia how to make granny squares - she's in her sixties and has always been a knitter but she desperately wanted to learn to crochet, so we had a lesson and she did really well!

The first month of my 2013 book challenge has gone to plan - I finished four books in January!
- "The Hobbit" by JRR Tolkien
- "The China Bird" by Bryony Doran
- "The Men who Stare at Goats" by Jon Ronson
- "Crazy as Chocolate" by Elisabeth Hyde
I had hoped to get through more for January to be honest, but I seem to have been so busy catching up after the busy Christmas period. I have finished lots of crafty projects in January though - two pairs of cable knit fingerless gloves, two and a half pairs of socks and I have almost finished a knitted and crocheted blanket, so I've been pretty productive really!
