Happy Christmas!

It's been a ridiculously busy month in my stall! I start my Christmas holiday at 2pm tomorrow and I am looking forward to a lovely break - my stall will be closed until Wednesday 9th January.
My etsy shop will remain open during the festive break, but I won't be posting orders until my stall re-opens so that I am sure to take a proper stretch of time off. So with that in mind, I would like to take this opportunity to wish all of my lovely customers and online friends a very happy and healthy festive season, and all the best for 2013. I am hoping to have some shiny new designs and stock to show off in the new year - looking forward to seeing you all then!

Ta Da Tuesday

I finished my Frankensocks! I am absolutely thrilled with them, and have used up a whole bunch of old sock yarn making them, and that is just ace!
I think I have enough yarn left to make another pair, so I'm off to get started with them right now!
"Ta-da Tuesday" is over at Faith Hope and Charity Shopping, pop over to have a look!

Ta-Da Tuesday!

I've been so very busy over the last couple of weeks, but I've tried to remember to have a little bit of time to do relaxing things like knit socks, and last night I finished my latest pair!
I have given them their first outing today, and they really are snuggly and fabulous! Of course, as soon as they were off the needles I started my next pair, but these ones are a little bit different - I am knitting both socks at once because they are stash busting Frankenstein's Monster socks, made from the ends of other balls of sock yarn!
I think because I have fairly teensy feet I seem to end up with loads of yarn left at the end of a pair of socks, so it seemed like a good idea to be thrifty and make a pair from leftovers, since sock yarn isn't the cheapest, and I have pretty much tried every colour-way in my local yarn shop already!
This is the beginning of the first sock, and this evening I will be catching up with the second!
My other recent thrifty efforts have involved picking up cheap jumpers from charity shops and unravelling them for the yarn...
This is all 100% cotton! The inspiration for this came from my lovely friend Becca over at AlterKNITive, she's been running a very informative knitting course, and last Wednesday was all about recycling! I haven't finished unravelling the white yet, but I am absolutely amazed at how much good quality yarn I have for less than £8! It's taken some time to undo it all, but I think it's been worth it! The other advantage is that it's absolutely necessary that I go charity shopping!!
I'm joining in with Ta-Da Tuesday today over at Faith Hope and Charity Shopping (there's a lovely giveaway over there too!)

Readings...November

Unlike October, I actually managed to finish four books in November! It seems ironic really, given that I have been so unbelievably busy in November, with lots of Christmas makings and orders, and more Robins than I have ever made before! But I have still found a little bit of time to read, and I finally finished "Little Women"!
So, my readings for November...
  • "Little Women" by Louisa May Alcott
  • "Purple" by Graham J. Sharpe
  • "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz" by L. Frank Baum
  • "Coco and Igor" by Chris Greenhalgh
My "Book a Week" New Year's Resolution is nearly done, one more month to go, and aside from October, I've managed rather well! I'm hoping that I'll make it to four books in December, but I'm so busy that I'm really not sure!

New Robins!

Just wanted to share my latest Robins, made from corduroy. They are absolutely adorable!
They will be on sale in my stall tomorrow, but I'm hoping to get some more made over the next week!

New Makings!

All of my new makings are packaged up and very pretty!

Owl Brooches

Owl Earrings
And lots of puppies. As well as the new designs, I have also made some dachshunds in new colours, they've been very popular, and I now have a section of my brooch stand that is all full of dogs...
.
So sweet! All of my new stock is available in my stall and in my etsy shop now.

Busy Day!

There's been quite a bit of making going on today! I've made some stock to make sure that my shop is full for Christmas, and I've also been working on some new designs...
Owl Brooches - there are also earrings which I will be photographing when they're assembled...

And a variety of dog brooches, including Chihuahuas, Labradors, Spaniels, Staffordshire Bull Terriers, English Bull Terriers, Boxer Dogs and Basset Hounds, which will sit nicely with my Dachshund, Scotty and Greyhound brooches! I will be sharing photographs soon, and the dogs and owls will be in my Etsy shop and stall as soon as possible!
I also made a Badger brooch for a customer, it will be a Christmas present for a special Hufflepuff!
And while all of the new stock was quietly cutting out, I put up my fancy extra large Christmas Bauble. I spent Saturday evening working on it and I really do love it!

More Makings...

I have had a jolly week making Christmas goodies, but I haven't quite reached the end yet - it is Saturday evening and I am still sewing Robins!
I have had orders for nine of these little lovelies in the last two days, plus the special commission Robin that I made on Wednesday, so I am having to put in some overtime to get them all done and ready to go to their new homes! I really do love making them though so it's no hardship!
I had another evening of bauble making on Wednesday too...
I really do love making Christmas decorations!

Mid-week Makings!

I've had a busy week of making so far, and I thought I would share my progress!
 Six Mini Christmas Tree Monsters
Ten Crocheted Baubles

A special commission Robin with a fancy purple chest

and twenty mini button monsters!
It has been a very busy week, my plan for tomorrow is to cut out some Robins and yo-yo brooches, but tonight I am going to be working on socks - I think I deserve an evening off!

Festive Stall Decoration!

My festive spirit has kicked in early this year, and I spent a very enjoyable day decorating my stall!
As I mentioned last week, my theme this year is Happy Handmade Christmas, so my decorations are all displayed in embroidery hoops and a tapestry frame! I think the stall looks rather pretty...
 My tree is looking jolly...
There's a fancy sign on the front of my counter...
 And the decorations look fab...

I have already had early birds popping up for decorations and I have plans to make more this week!
