My Creative Space

Today I am working on some glittery Christmas Decorations! I have been using the fantastic patterns from The Royal Sisters Blog with some sparkle yarn that I picked up yesterday, so aided by tea and cheesy movies, I am crocheting up a storm!
These are the ones I've finished so far, now I'm going to have a little break to do some work in my sketchbook, and then I'll be back on stars and trees!

  3. Hey there - I found you through Handmade by Fiona, then through Our Creative Spaces. Love those stars and trees so much I decided to get some glitter yarn and give it a try. I just learned how to make flowes, surely I can make a star or two!

  5. Hi again,

I was wondering if you could tell me what shimmer yarn you used. I bought some Shimmer, by Red Heart, and my star seems a little floppy. Did you stiffen yours with something. Thanks for any info.

  6. Hi Cindy,
I'm using "Twilight" yarn, it doesn't have a specific make on it. I haven't stiffened them, they're pretty firm, but I've been thinking about it, and my thoughts would be to either try using a smaller hook, or use double thickness of yarn, that might help! Hope that's useful!x

  7. Thanks so much for your help. I'm using a Red Heart Sparkle. I usually don't use red heart anything but it was there at the fabric store and it reminded me of your stars/trees so I went for it. I think they are going to be ok, but if they get too floppy I'm going to try your suggestions. Thanks again.
