New Crochet Square

I wanted to try a new type of granny square with the lovely yarn that I got from the seaside, so last night I started this waterlily pattern from the "200 Crochet blocks" book.

I'm really pleased with how it came out! I don't have a huge amount of the yarn so I think I'm going to have to find something that works with it so that I can make something substantial - I'd like to make a blanket!

  1. That is really, really pretty!!! I totally need to learn some other styles rather than the most basic of granny squares.

  2. Wow! That is gorgeous! A blanket made up of those would look fab. x

  3. Thanks - I really love these squares, I have finished three now, and I found out today (from my trusty yarn shop staff) that the yarn is probably 20 years old given the label design! Not much chance of finding more I suspect...

    1. Hi! The pattern is called Waterlily and it's from a book called "200 Crochet Blocks" , it's a fantastic book and has become my go-to book for nice patterns!
