Sometimes It's Worth Having a Sleepless Night...

Last Sunday we both had a bout of insomnia, and having been awake from 4.30am, we gave in at 7am and decided to go on the hunt for a cup of tea. We didn't find tea but we did find ourselves at Lake Vyrnwy. It's a beautiful lake which supplies the water to Liverpool, having done some geeking up on it I found that the dam was started in 1881 and opened in 1910, and building the dam involved flooding a village called Llanwddyn. As well as the Lake and the dam, there is a beautiful sculpture park, it's surrounded by trees and mountains, it's quite lovely. This is looking back at the path we took down to the sculpture parkAnd a tiny house that was tucked under some trees. Even the tiniest person couldn't fit through those little doors! The house is by a Welsh artist called Irene Brown. There were also lots of little clusters of mushrooms. In the strange early morning sunlight it was really quite a magical place. And right by the car park, overlooking the sculpture park was this gorgeous house (which I really want to live in!). I loved the granny blanket on the bench, it would be a lovely place to sit and watch the world go by.

It was just the kind of peaceful little wander around that I needed, the fresh air was just the thing to clear away some cobwebs.
